3M Precise Mouse Pad Enhances the Precision of Optical Mice at Fast Speeds, Easy to Clean, Stays in Place, 9 in x 8 in (MP114-BSD1)

I don't know how excited I should be getting over a mouse pad but this one worked great with my brand new computer and my new keyboard and mouse.. I don't use it much anymore I'm 58 years old but since Windows 10's going bye-bye I thought it'd be time to step up. I built that last computer back in 2012 so I definitely got my life out of it. Amazingly I put one together for the same price I did back in 2012 and got about the same stuff. But the mousepad works great I like that it's oversized I'm not running the thing off the side of it or anything it works well

The problem I needed to solve was using a mouse pad on a plain glass surface and resulting significant slippage. This mouse pad does NOT slip on glass and it is just what I needed, at a reasonable price.

To preface, I am a gamer and I've been looking for a while for a mouse pad that has all the qualities this one has. While I don't game professionally, I do take my gaming very seriously. If you're not a gamer or you're not looking for the qualities that I will list here, then this review may be of limited use or this may not be the mouse pad for you. I am using a Logitech G502 Mouse with aftermarket Teflon feet and I keep the pad clean and lubricated with a light coat of Lemon Pledge (isoparaffin and white mineral oil).ACCURACY:This is far and away the the most accurate mouse pad I've owned, and I've been through dozens. But how am I defining accuracy here? I consider a mouse pad's accuracy as a function of how much effort it takes to make minute adjustments by hand. This is important to me, because I want to be able to smoothly control the reticle in games without much effort or time. How does this mousepad achieve this? Low coefficient of STATIC friction. There are two types of friction, the type of friction that prevents something from starting to move (static friction) and the type that slows something down when its already moving (dynamic friction). The former, static friction, will require a certain amount of force before an object begins to move, and the case of a mouse if this is too high it can cause you to overshoot the adjustment you were trying to make. It can also cause a "stick and slip" motion at low speeds. With this mouse pad (and a thin coat of Lemon Pledge for lubricant), the effort to nudge the mouse from a stop is almost non-existent. I can nudge the mouse and it will glide along like it's on ice. This is important for making high accuracy adjustments like you would doing long range business in an FPS.SPEED:I will define speed here as how much total effort it takes to move the mouse. Unsurprisingly this ultimately ties back to the friction, however this time it is the coefficient of DYNAMIC friction. This mouse pad, when done up right, is *slippery*; and this to me is a fantastic thing. When the effort taken to move the mouse is less you can get from point A to point B that much faster. It should be warned that since you will be unaccustomed to a mouse that can move this fast, there will be a re-training period where your fine motor skills have to relearn the amount of force needed to place the mouse during quick movements; in summary: you will probably be overshooting your targets until you adjust (but it is well worth it). This is important because it will make whip shots (think "360 no scope") quicker and more accurate. It will also make tracking targets in motion much easier as the motion will be butter smooth.TIPS AND SUGGESTIONS:* If there is even a tiny speck of dust on the pad, it will be painfully obvious through a scratching sensation. Keep the pad clean!* Keep the pad lubricated. I use a thin coat of Lemon Pledge as I have mentioned, it smells nice and it's no big deal putting your hand on it.* Use Teflon or other PTFE mouse feet. It compliments the slipperiness pad well.* Keep your hand off the pad. You don't want your salty oils and skin flakes on there. Use a wrist rest or the "palm method" to keep yourself off the pad.* If you are shaky or are having a hard time with accuracy, plant your wrist or forearm on something like a wrist rest or the edge of your table. Control should come from your wrist.* Don't use too much downward force.* If you feel scratching but the pad is clean, inspect the bottom of the mouse for any plastic that protrudes below the feet of the mouse and file those areas down.

Thought it would have been higher quality material and thicker. Wish it came in different designs but it was limited. Does the job.

Haven’t had any more problems with my mouse not working as accurately so it must work. It does come with a strong smell, almost like an oil or gas smell, that’s the only thing I didn’t like. Otherwise great!

I never leave reviews, but this is a great, zippy mouse pad! Love it!

I don’t see an improvement in fact it’s kind of slippery for the mouse on top and I don’t like that, I feel like a plain regular black one would’ve been better.
