Working
I installed this small conditioner on pipe leaving my second and final water heater. I have a geothermal system that heats first WH that then feeds into the second one, which is hybrid WH. I had already installed a Scale latter SB-75 system on cold water pipe entering the house. Since I have two WH and a geo superdeheater pumping water through its system and into the first 30 gal. WH I opted to use this small conditioner on hot water pipe to provide better conditioning. It seems to do okay, but not sure if it is adding much conditioning, or it’s all from ScaleBladter.I have a Ionics water softener, but I bypassed it and shut it off. The results of the conditioned water vs softened water has been notable. Our most notable change has been the toilets. We no longer have a scum and or streaks build up in than we did before. I am pretty sure this is not because we I shut down the softener, but possibly could have. We have a large shower in our bathroom that has two sides with 6’ glass sides. We have not noticed any spotting since going with conditioned water. I have noticed the soap does not suds as much or skin as slippery as with the softener. But that is just fine with both of us.I installed this little system by locating it it about18” from where I wrapped the pipe. I put it into a PVC single gang electrical box. I drilled two holes in back of box and screwed to floor joist. I also drilled a hole in bottom to pass power cord through. I routed the two wires from pipe through knockouts in box where Romex would be passed through. Then I connected the two wires to terminals on circuit board and the power cord to the bottom and placed it into the PVC box. I ain’t pretty, but it works and didn’t cost me a penny (already had the box).Good cheap fix that I recommend you at least trying. If I hadn’t already had the bigger better ScaleBladter installed, I’d bought the dual circuit one though, didn’t feel I needed it in my case.

After months of having this installed, still not sure
I have installed a 2 board version but after months I'm still not sure it is doing anything.We did install a new SS dishwasher a few months back also and i have noticed some hard water residue but not substantial. The old DW had bad buildup. I just switched the wires around again lets see if that makes a difference.

Difficult to install and doesn't make much difference
There weren't any instructions that were clear and installing it but once I did didn't find it to make much of a difference

Lights up and shows to be working
I can say it is sure pretty cool to see it in action. I do hope it is working on doing the inside water job it is supposed to do. It only came with 1.8 meters of wire as where I see others come with 5 meters of wire. The coil is very small on 3/4 inch pvc so I do hope it is enough coil for such a small length of wire. I rated at 4 stars because according if lights are in motion it is supposed to be working and for sure it is in motion but came with short wire.I guess time will tell because we do have hard water build up in this household and I will see if it will ease up.

Nice substitute for $$$ models
AFAICT, this is essentially the same as the $100+ products---they create a magnetic field by running electricity through a coiled wire (electricity running in a straight line creates a field around the wire---if you run the wire in a coil, you'll get the strongest magnetic effect in the middle of the coil).I don't know if the magnetic field does anything useful. I installed it yesterday and I want to think that I'm seeing slightly better suds, but I might be imagining things. My town water just barely makes it into the "hard" category (123 ppm or 7.2 gpg).This was relatively easy to install. Wrapping the wire around the pipe was annoying as the wire would get caught in odd ways, but I took it slowly and ended up with a nice wrap. I used zip ties to secure the ends. The LEDs were a nice confirmation that I connected the wires correctly. The board is so light that two 1" nails were more than enough to secure it. I hope the picture helps!Conclusion: if you are annoyed by hard water, but aren't sure about spending big $$$ or changing the taste of your water, I'd definitely recommend this.Btw, I did some research about possible effectiveness and found a paper in a respected journal by a respected author which is written from a skeptical viewpoint and found that magnetism did affect the form of carbonate (magnetism favored aragonite vs. calcite). I don't think Amazon allows links in reviews, but the title/authors is: Magnetic water treatment by J.M.D. Coey and Stephen Cass.

using on a pool pump..
i am using this for another purpose than described. as the title says a pool system. i will report back later on my findings with a 1.5 inch pvc pipe calcium hardness of about 380 and appx. 22gpg. there is a claim in the leaflet this will help destroy algae i will test this claim as well through out this summer. i will update in a few weeks after pool has had a chance to adapt and will post test results when i get them. based on my findings i will adjust my final ratings. for now i give 5 stars.UPDATE: 07-05-2020completely ineffective on pool pipes, water hardness via testing is the same as it was 90 days ago. started with 400 still at 400 yes i am aware this has its limits so i will try it on another experiment for a few months, but for a pool with 1.5 inch pipes on the intake side it is a waste of money as you would need as many as 5 modules to handle that sort of flow.i do want to add after checking for magnetic output i was getting no readings around the coils.

Fair price
I expended some time looking for one of these electronic descaler, but most of them cost more than $100 and even two or three times that, the electronics for all of them is simple and all of them works based on the same principle, and I also didn't like the idea to pay hundred dollars to find out it didn't work in my home. I bought the basic model with no case and used a junction box that I had at home. I just installed it so that so far I can't tell about the result.

Returned since I didn’t need it
No idea, as I never unboxed it so I just gave it a middle of the road 3 stars.
