I gave this 3 stars solely for the fact that there were a plethora of spelling and grammatical errors. I still can't believe I paid for this book which most definitely wasn't proof read or edited!

Unfortunately, I had to give the Homepod a one star review, which is overrated. I have a subscription to Apple Match - but not to Apple Music. I specifically organized dozens of play lists so I could then use the Homepod to play them. It doesn't recognize them and responds that I need a subscription to Apple Music to play back playlists. Even small things... I also have a Google smart speaker, which I ask to play nature sounds before I go to sleep. This also requires a subscription to Apple Music. I tried listening to the radio the other day... also - You need a subscription to Apple Music. Neither does it recognize any of Podcasts, "Hey Siri, play podcast..." and it will respond that it can't find that podcast (NPR, New York Times podcasts). The sound of the speaker is excellent, but basically worthless as a way to listen to your music, the radio or podcasts with a subscription to Apple Music. I'm going to put back my $50 Sony Google smart speaker... and also think about leaving the Apple environment, which I have been a part of for a long time.

I was expecting a lot more tech specs about speaker performance. I was also expecting more about about the use of Siri (which I consider terrible) in selecting music to play. Ever try selecting a Bach organ piece played by Biggs at Cambridge cathedral? You can’t unless you speak 50 words/min.

A bit dated, but good intro to HomePod. Basic but thoughtful comparison of Amazon v Apple in home automation space.
