love it
I'm new to flash photography, and this is my first flash. I really enjoy this flash, it really puts out a lot of light. I like the articulation of the head, it makes it easy to bounce. i also use it off camera with the shanny e-ttl remote triggers. it works well with my soft box. The stand is pretty neat. The padded case is very nice. the lever lock hot shoe is nice for super quick on and off. I use the amazon basics black high capacity rechargable batteries, and they last pretty well.

Great Flash, Great Price
This is a great flash at a great price. Get one before they realize it's worth more! I'm replacing a 430EX ii and wanted something more powerful. This fills the bill for a lot less money than the Canon 600. This does everything the Canon will. The build quality seems very high. The manual (if you want to call it that) is just a folded sheet with instructions written by a non English speaker (no idea why they do that). It's a bit of a challenge, but you can figure everything out. There also doesn't seem to be a web site for these folks. For the price though and the initial quality and functionality, I'd buy it again.

Plastic Door for Battery Breaks
Great flash. Does 95% of the $500 Canon version but the construction is not up to par. I had a battery door break after 5 or 6 uses. Can't be fixed and is hardly worth the hassle of sending back and forth to China for a fix. With other brands similarly priced, I can't recommend due to build quality. Functionality was great while it worked.

reliable and sophisticated yet easy to use flash at a bargain price get this ...
I almost returned this flash before getting to know it, because initially I could not adjust the exposure compensation setting to get ideal exposure. Right at zero it kept overexposing and left of zero (-) it would underexpose. I thought if it overexposed at zero then adding compensation would really be hot. Then I did one final test and went where I hadn't gone before, right at about (+1) I got what I was looking for, and then the flash would expose well from ten inches to thirty+ feet in one move without the need for any adjustment giving the same ideal result. In manual you have to press the (+/-) button to adjust output. I won't need manual while the flash is on camera anyway because TTL works so well. If you don't have a powerful, reliable and sophisticated yet easy to use flash at a bargain price get this one while you can. I did recommend this to a friend. Its worth more and deserves six stars. May the increase of knowledge also increase purpose.I later found that the setting of camera's flash exposure compensation impacts the flash's exposure compensation, and when well coordinated will deliver excellent results. If you're stuck in the "twilight zone" adjusting every exposure manually, step into the future, much to your relief you'll find that ... yes you can trust up to date modern technology.

Not fully Canon EX compatible??
I have finally acquired the Sn600SC and have found some problems with the Canon 550ex . It works great in ettl modes but limited in Manual modes. A+B+C from the 50d camera control menu fires all 3 of my 550's. A:B works like a charm as well. A:B:C Nothing fires dead as a doornail!Using the Shanny as slave to the 550 Master, well it works intermittently. Sometimes yes, mostly NO! I did find 1 peculiar thing about this. Don't know what possessed me to do this but when I put my hand over the flash to PARTIALLY block some of the light, NOT completely though, from the 550ex it fired the Shanny 600sc slave.?????? Can't figure that one out? Also, the menu 2 function to turn off the master flash during exposure {master disabled} button on the Shanny works sporadically as well. These conditions were identical on BOTH Sn600sc 's that I've had here. and NO I do not have any other Canon EX flashes to check, just the 3 550ex's.Don't know why 2 Shanny 600SC's are exhibiting the same exact anomalies w/ the 550ex's. One would assume that the Canon Optical System should work or NOT work at all whether a 550ex, 580, 430 ,420 or whatever. Canon flashes all the way up to the current 600ex-rt are ALL compatible in Optical mode. Why this Shanny would work w/ newer Canon EX series and not ALL EX is confusing. What about the 550ex is not compatible w. Shanny but 'stated by Canon' to work with All Canon EX masters or slaves is beyond reason.I will try 1 more Shanny [3rd one} to see if the identical issues remain concerning the 550ex or not.

Good value. Questionable build quality.
The flash itself is good. Great value. However, you get what you pay for. I lost the first one I bought so I purchased 2 more. The light was consistent and reliable. The build quality is where this flash suffers. During a wedding the mounting foot began to loosen. I checked the Lock and the lock release and both were secure. Suddenly there was a loud crash. I was shocked to see my flash on the floor. Spread around were several small screws and the contact plate that connects to the hot shoe. I was very disappointed. Thankfully I had a back-up and was able to keep shooting but I was very embarrassed in front of the groom and all his groomsmen in their suite.

Best cheap flash yet
This is a nice flash for the money! Build quality is better than I expected. It's 80% as nicely built as a Canon Speedlite.ETTL seems to work on a 6D. Almost all the in camera menu options work with this flash. Functions well as an optical master. Recycles very quickly and throws a lot of light. I don't yet trust it 100%. Reliability remains to be seen and ETTL seems spotty at higher ISOs. But I haven't found an obvious flaw yet. Much better than other cheap flashes I've tried. All in all, it's a great flash. 80% of a Canon at 20% of the price.

Not compatible with PocketWizard
Everything positive others have said about this flash is true. I would say it actually has more output than the Canon 600rt and my exposures have been perfect, It integrates with the Canon optical trigger system perfectly as well. The one down side for me is it isn't compatible with the PocketWizard TT! and TT5 system, not even in manual mode. I don't have the basic triggers so I can't say if it will work with those or not but I suspect no. This is a big problem for me, but it's so inexpensive and works so well I want to keep it for on camera use.

Rapport QP excellent

Excellent product with high utility value
Excellent performance. Its a budget speedlight loaded with all features at par to Canon 580 ex ii and physical resemblance to Canon 600 ex rt. Shanny has not included the radio trigger system but it is compatible with my existing Yongnuo yn 622 c radio trigger system as such I do not feel any problem on this count. Overall excellent product worth it's price.

>ONLY BUY PRIME< Incase it is defective. (UPDATE - IT TURNED OUT TO BE FINE!!!)
UPDATE- IT IS FINE NOW, THE SWITCH JUST NEEDED TO LEARN WHERE THE OFF ON AND LOCKED POSITIONS WERE. AFTER TURNING IT OFF AND ON AGAIN IT STARTED WORKING AS INTENDED.ONLY GRIPE IS THAT THE PORT COVERS DONT ALWAYS STAY CLOSED.I brought this flash as my Yongnuo 565 decided to give up after 8 months. I thought the slightly higher price tag and better features would be worth the extra money. However, I probably should have avoided because I had never heard of the brand before. When I first put batteries in it went crazy and turned off and on again about 10 times. (the switch was turned to off) I then took the batteries out again. I put them back in better this time. I slid it onto my 60D and it turned on and then off again? After a few goes I managed to get it to go on the camera without turning off or on. But then....... The flash would stay locked unless the on/off switch was held on the on position. (see image)The only saving grace, I brought on prime so refund and return is easy.It did fire fine on ETTL so I imagine if the switch was not defective it would be fine.Other problems/ niggles- Socket covers did not fit properly and were slightly discoloured.Things I liked- The screen, really nice and clear- The locking foot, much nicer to use than a wheel.- The price. - Good if it works. It is a shame, there was so much potential there. - For the same spec level the Yongnuo equivalent is £118 and the Canon is £430. So this was a bargain. I dont know If I am going to buy a replacement.Be warned - only buy Prime
